sorry its been a while...

Sorry it's been a while....there has just been so much going on! It has been a lot of fun getting to catch up with old friends, and to spend time with other friends! Last weekend there was a lot going on....this is going to be a bit out of order (mainly because I keep on forgetting to upload the pictures I want first last! Sometimes blogger just stinks - especially trying to rearrange pictures!!!)

So, in order of the pictures.....

On Sunday morning I met some old Andersen girls (ironic - I never worked at Andersen, but I got to know all of them really well and they let me into their group -- I will refrain to call it a cult :) ). We try to get together at least once a year, and every time we do, we have a great time catching up, telling old stories from the Andersen /KPMG days (sadly, LL is the only one left at KPMG right now!) We even get SS to fly in from Dallas to make the reunion complete!

Here is LL, KH and SS posing before we ordered. We went to Hungry's - if you haven't ever been there - you need to go. Their brunch is REALLY GOOD! Let's just say I have to add that to my "I overate at this meal" tally! Their stinking french toast was AMAZING....and let's not even begin about how good the raspberry mimosas were!!!
Here are all of the girls : me, KP, KW, LL, SS, and LG. We had a few more that had "babysitter" issues and weren't able to join us. It was a LOT of fun!

On Saturday, I had to work in the Junior League (JL) kitchen for one of my placements for my provisional year. It was my first week and we had a REALLY good time. More playing around and getting to know everyone in our group that was working. We also got to know the kitchen staff a little too and had a great time playing with them. It reminded me of the old Ski Lodge days....working in the kitchen...but the JL kitchen is quite a bit better :)

Then I had a ton of things to do, and ended up finishing up most of my errands and got a chance to meet up with some KPMG girls for dinner and to go watch our friend RT play in his band again. We went to dinner at Cyclone Anayas (which, I love this place. Crazy thing is - my favorite thing is basically grilled chicken with avocados and tomatoes with some white cheese on top. YUMMY!) and had a great time catching up!

Then, off to the show...it was at a bar on top of Reef restaurant in Midtown, and even though it was hot as hell in Houston, it was GREAT weather - nice breeze and of course, there was great music!

Here is LM and I

Here is LM, SJ and JM.
Ah, SJ being silly as usual. We were talking about being the biggest fans and SJ dropped to her knees to act like a silly fan yelling after the lead singer! AWESOME!
Here are all the girls:
RT's band did a great job again. I should have posted the picts of them singing and all the girls up dancing...always a testament to great music! I can't wait for them to play again!

It was a great weekend....followed by a quick trip to LA for a few days for work. It was so fun to get to see LA - we stayed at the W in westwood (I would HIGHLY recommend staying there if you can. The hotel is AMAZING, there are lots of fun restaurants and stuff around, and if you like coffee, there are like 3 starbucks, 2 the Coffee Beans, and 2 Peets within a mile radius!

My friend LG went with me, and we got to eat at this great restaurant called JirAffe in Santa Monica. It was FABULOUS. We went with a co-worker TL - which we thank him for carting us around and taking care of us for a few days!!!

I then got to do shift 2 at Radio Lollipop on Wednesday....this time I was on the PICU floor, and the bone marrow transplant floor. We got to meet some AMAZING kids and parents and I got to spend some more time with the other volunteers and it was such a great time!!! I LOVE RADIO LOLLIPOP!

This weekend, I got to spend some time by the pool with LG an KC - and catch up. It was just so much fun - but REALLY HOT. Then we ventured out to Pearland to go see LG's house and have dinner. We had a few minor set-backs...like me almost running over SM (let's just say I made sure the Preggo woman was in the car, but obviously didn't notice SM WASN'T in the car yet. oops!) Then we had to make a detour where KC left her purse (and after 2 subsequent trips to the house, we didn't get it back!) but once we got to LG's house, we had a GREAT time catching up, laughing till our sides hurt, touring the house, and eating great food. I will have to post the recipe for the enchiladas LG made (with the Chuy's dip she made!) and the tres leches -- which just ROCKED MY WORLD. It was so awesome. And we made it home without any more "setbacks" (as KC calls anything that gets in the way of the intended plan!).

I am so blessed to be surrounded by such great friends...ones who meet me for dinner, who laugh with me at all the silly things we do, friends that understand that I overbook myself and let me off the hook, and just support me in all that I do. I am truly blessed.
