a great Saturday Night....

Tonight was such a great night out with some old friends. It has been "Restaurant Week" for a couple of weeks now, and they extended one extra weekend and so a group of us went out to dinner. These are a bunch of my old KPMG friends and it was SOOOOO good to get to spend some time with them - catching up, and more than anything laughing and just having a FABULOUS time! We went to a great restaurant called Ousies Table -- it is in River Oaks and it was so stinking good. For restaurant week you get a three course meal -- I had tortilla soup, then a parmesan crusted chicken with artichokes and mushrooms with a lemon sauce that also had a spicy read sauce on it too, with mashed potatoes then the house custard for dessert. It was totally DELICIOUS.

I think the rest of the restaurant did not appreciate us, as we were so happy to see each other, and after a few drinks spent most of the time laughing hysterically at one thing or another. And I am pretty sure that during dessert they made me laugh just after I had taken a bite - and yes, for those of you who know me well, know this can happen quite often - I totally spewed it across the table because I started laughing so hard. Which or course, made the entire table erupt in table as I had custard ALL OVER my face. Classic Lippe Moment.

It was such a wonderful night with such wonderful friends. They are some of the biggest reasons that I miss my old job....it was the people I got to spend time with....which is why we are going to just have to do this more often!!!

In the picture above, it is CT and I at the restaurant.
Here is PD, SJ and I. It was so great to sit in between these ladies and catch up. PD is expecting and SJ is building a new house - so we had LOTS to catch up on!!!
Here are the T's....the "calmest" of the group....the best part was when CT laughed and turned SOLID red. Love it.
Here is SJ and her hubby - TJ. They are SO freaking funny....I love getting to hang out with them as they are just so real and can make just about anyone laugh.
Here is FD and his wife PD...how much do I love them....FD and I worked together on a job at KPMG and I enjoyed about every moment - especially the late nights and all the "conversations" we had -- most were probably not work appropriate but so much fun none the less. And his sweet wife - well, she is a saint - mainly because she has to put up with him! Totally kidding, but they are about the sweetest couple ever...
And here is our choice for after dinner drinks - more for nostalgia purposes. Every time after a KPMG Christmas Party - the D's and the J's would stop here....the last time I went with them and totally got hit on by a girl in the parking lot. I was TOTALLY embarrassed, but they thought it was hilarious. this girl kept saying "you have a pretty dress...you are so pretty" - note she was NOT sober and probably high, which made it even worse. But they will NEVER let it die. Especially when we left and the girl was STILL in the parking lot calling me pretty lady.
Tonight was MUCH calmer....thank goodness!
Here is FD and I posing for a picture....
Here are all the girls....

It was a GREAT night -- and I am so thankful to have so many great friends that I have met over the years -- especially those that we can go have dinner and drinks and just enjoy each other and laugh so hard we spit custard over each other and still love each other! (yes, I apologized profusely, I felt awful....they thought it was so freaking funny and wanted to know if it would happen again. which yes, it did happen once again and I even TOLD them not to start when I was trying to eat. Oh, well.)
