NYC is one of my favorite places to take pictures....and I LOVE being able to play with my camera. SO, I was in Heaven taking pictures and trying new settings. I found this setting and took some pictures in the subway....I LOVE them!!! I especially love the picture above of L and J on the train. He is so sweet to my sister...can you see his hand resting on her shoulder? They just warm my heart! (one of my favorite other pictures that didn't turn out as well was them walking to fireworks holding hands....it was so stinking cute!!!)

Here are L, J and Mom waiting for the train! We were going shopping - K was at home sleeping, Dad wasn't feeling so hot so he went back to the hotel, so the four of us started our trek over the city looking for deals. And deals did we find!!!!

And the train finally arrives for us to go to the next store!!!

One of my favorite things about NYC are the parks...especially when you stumble across them and they are like a haven in the middle of the city. I love standing in the middle of them, hearing the birds chirp, seeing people taking some time just reading, sitting on the benches people watching, and then looking up and seeing the great buildings surrounding the park. There is something about it that just brings joy to my heart!

We went to dinner and we took some pictures before going into the restaurant. Above is Dad and I - for some reason he always cracks up when I take the picture of just the two of us -- and his laugh just makes me laugh. Have I ever told you how much I L-O-V-E my dad?!?

Here is L and I - waiting to go into dinner.....

And K and I......
The rest of the pictures are a little out of order....you would think by now that I could upload in the correct order, but I can't! The next few pictures were at the fireworks display at the board walk at the beach!

Here is Mom and I waiting for the fireworks to start!

Here is the boardwalk with all the people (yes, it was a collection of people!) and the fireworks. It was a pretty good fireworks display!!!! I especially loved the girl who ended up standing next to me (above, in the orange shirt). She was around 13, soft spoken and would say "that one was a pretty one. I like fireworks, don't you?" and then look up at me expectantly with these big brown eyes! She was the exact opposite of her mom (the lady in the striped shirt) who had a raspy smokers voice and yelled a lot. My favorite part was after the fireworks were over and we were walking home, she ran past me, waving frantically saying, GOOD BYE! GOOD NIGHT! It was really sweet.

Here is J and I right before the fireworks. Have I mentioned how much I H-E-A-R-T my brother in law? he is SOOOO GREAT!!!!!

This was my favorite part of the whole trip - and where I spent most of my time. Rocking in this chair, feet up on the railing, reading a book, drinking coffee, or talking to my fam. It was like heaven on earth. I think a front porch and a rocking chair are a requirement for any house I ever own!!!

On Saturday night we decided to have a picnic...here are L and J before we started eating and while K was on the grill "iron-chefing" dinner....that is her term, not mine!

Here is K, manning the grill. Yes, there was a lot of food on there. No, we didn't eat it all. And Yes, it was REALLY REALLY REALLY yummy!!! Would you expect anything less from the Lippe chef's?

Here is another one of my favorites - walking out the back door and you are greeted by the BIGGEST hydrangea bushes ever. On this side they were white, on the other side they are pink. SO PRETTY. And when I say bush, I mean huge bush. I wish they grew like that in Texas!!!

And the house....oh, how much do I H-E-A-R-T this house. Above is the back porch, that looks into the kitchn. Below is the front of the house from the street. You can see Mom and Leah sitting off to the side talking -- pretty sure that was where I left them before I went to the beach for a couple of hours. And you can't see it in this picture - but the porch wraps around -- and to the right of the door is the table where we had breakfast as a family....have I mentioned how much I loved this trip and how much fun I had with the family?!? I want to go back....
