It was such a fabulous weekend...I went off to Seguin to celebrate Baby G and Mama Lippe's upcoming birthday. Every year, some of the girls from Seguin try to get together for a girls weekend, but with one 4 month old baby and another one on the way, we decided just to get together at home this year and have a baby shower! A few of the girls met up on Friday night and saw AN's new house in NB since they just moved back, and then went off to eat at Huisache. It was so much fun to get to catch up with the girls, especially since we rarely get to see each other! Then the next day we all gathered at my parent's house for a shower. It was SO much fun to get to see everyone - and to get to hang out and catch up. It is amazing how when we get together it seems as though almost no time has passed! I love these girls and am so blessed that we have grown up together. Most of us have been friends since we were in elementary school -- some even longer than that! Above is GG and I -- I didn't get a picture of her cute belly - but I think it is in the pictures below!
The day after the shower we had a party to celebrate my mom's upcoming birthday. We had a few people over to the house for fajitas and margaritas. I didn't get that many picts as I was too busy cooking...and being the bartender. It was SO much fun to have them over. Especially when these ladies started telling stories about my mom when she was younger....one favorite was her after a few too many margaritas and getting in the back of the station wagon, and they were following her in a car and all of a sudden see my mom's legs hanging out of the window. AWESOME. And they were telling stories about how when she was prego with me and my sister that her feet got so big she couldn't even buckle her shoes. AWESOME. I love hearing stories like that! Here are the ladies, with the dangerous margaritas I made:
And here is me and my sister. It was SO much fun to have her at home. And good news - they put an offer on a house and it appears that they might have a contract on Monday! I AM SOOOOO EXCITED to have her back in Texas (Austin to be exact!).
It was a really great weekend...I love getting to go home! (well, except for I-10 which was an absolute mess and I had to ask for forgiveness for the amount of foul words that came out of my mouth on BOTH trips...there and back. It was AWFUL. but at least I made it!!!)
