Christmas Part II....

The rest of Christmas was just fabulous...I'm pretty sure that my sis and I spent a LOT of time in our PJ's, not a lot of time showering and even more time laying around in bed. It was EXACTLY what we both needed - her because she has been working a TON lately and me, well just with everything at work and everything else, it was just what the doctor ordered!

As is tradition in our family, we go to my Dad's sisters house for Christmas and it was fabulous as usual. We had way too much food, even more laughter and lots of stories being told. It was the perfect way to spend Christmas Eve. We had a bit of drama, of course, instigated by me....which I won't blog about, but was really funny to some and really not funny to others....but I apologized to all of those with their feelings hurt and hope that they know how to forgive.

Then we went off to the 11 pm candle light service at Faith Lutheran....the church we have been going to since we were born. The same pastor baptized us, performed our first communion and also confirmed us...so it is a very special place for us to spend Christmas Eve! I took some great pictures of K holding the candle as we sing silent night -- and I would love to post them, but since I screwed up my camera, well, we will have to hold off on that. It was a record year, as I spilt no wax on anyone or anything and didn't try to burn down the church! ha! (even while taking pictures -- which is even more of a miracle!)

Christmas morning was awesome....we always have a great time laughing, opening presents and loving on each other. Mom made us breakfast after seeing what Santa had brought and then we all climbed back in bed and took a long nap! How awesome is that? I love that my family can just hang out on Christmas day and relax and enjoy everything and each other.

After that we ran off to Dallas to see Mom's side of the family - what was absolutely fabulous to get to see all my favorite cousins and eat (a trend in our family), watch some football and catch up on everyone's lives...and even better, I got to spend some quality time with my college roommate KJ and her sweet hubby, T. We stayed up talking and laughing and catching up on everything.....it was so awesome to get to spend so much time with them. The thing that I love about KJ is that we were talking at dinner about something going on in my life -- and I had been thinking about it, praying about it, and knew what I needed to do -- and of course, it wasn't want I WANTED to do, and of course that made me a bit emotional about it. And when I was telling her about it to see what she thought - all she had to do was look at me and of course the tears started flowing as she just seconded my thoughts. She didn't have to say a word, just give me a look and I understood. I love that about her....she could give me the advice I needed without even saying a word.

Then I had to run back to Houston to start back on "real life". It was a fabulous Christmas -- I got some fabulous presents, got to see all of the family and spend some wonderful time together, and got to catch up with some of my favorite friends. And the most important thing - we got to worship our Saviour -- and saying Thanks to God for all that he has done for us. I hope all of you had a fabulous Christmas with your families too!
