this weekend....

after a long weekend...this weekend was exactly what I needed. it involved LOTS of sleep and spending LOTS of time with great friends. I was so thankful to have Friday night to just lay around and do nothing but sleep....after a long week, well, I needed to catch up. And let's be honest, my favorite Friday night activity is to put on PJ's as soon as I walk in the door, order pizza (which as had to be added to the no-no list for a while), and watch TV and be in bed by 9 pm. Sad, I know, but I LOVE it. And this Friday night, it didn't disappoint.

And Saturday morning, SM and I had our favorite outing....Fountainview Cafe for a great breakfast and lots of coffee. But this time we hit the gym first. Yeah, I had to work off what I was about to eat! ha! But at least at SM and I got LOTS of time to catch up and chat...on the elliptical, laughing while lifting weights, and then at breakfast. Probably one of my favorite ways to spend a Saturday morning. I then proceeded to run a million errands (which, I really hate to do. I admit it. I hate HAVING to do things...I'd rather just do it all on a whim...having pressure to get something done is not my favorite way to do things). But I did get to go see my favorite makeup guy...I HEART HIM. I have been seeing him for a while -- we started our interlude when he was at MAC, then I followed him to Trish McEvoy and now he is at Dolce and Gabanna. And before you have a heart attack, it isn't that much different than any other makeup line at the mall. But I follow him around because he is amazing...I need to take a picture with him the next time he does my makeup. He just does a fabulous job..EVERY TIME. (and this one was no exception! LOVE HIM!).

And then on Saturday night we went out to celebrate LW's 30th birthday. Above, its JK, LM, the birthday girl and me. They had this fabulous idea to rent out a private room at this great sports bar called Sawyer Heights on Washington. This room was absolutely fabulous...think BIG projection TV, another flat screen on the other wall, and then basically 4 couches with a waitress at our beck and call. IT WAS AWESOME. Here is the group of girls....

We had all met for all of LW's wedding festivities, and it was great to get to see everyone again. So we watched the Cowboys kick the  Eagle's behinds,  and my favorite, at halftime JK had put together a slide show of LW's first 30 years..it was hilarious, including a video of her doing a highschool cheer last year. It was classic. And as soon as the game was over, we turned the room into our own private dance club. Yes, yes, we did. I would say it was because of this:

Notice what is in everyone's hands...yes, that would be a shot. The first of many, unfortunately for everyone when they woke up the next morning! ha! The other best part of the night was E (top, second from the right) befriending the bar back, and asking him to be in the picture -- look next to him who is siting by LM. CLASSIC I tell you. But one of my favorite parts of the night (besides hanging out with some of my FAVORITE girls) was getting to play with CC. He was my staff on one of my jobs for the first two years he was at the firm and I just heart him. He has a great quirky personality and the best part about him is he is totally scared of girls (that is our assessment -- not his) so we thoroughly enjoy trying to make him uncomfortable....by touching him (it took him 5 years before he could give me a side hug. No kidding.)...and no, not in a bad way, although I did grab his pecks quite a few times, ha, ha. Here we are on the couch where we spent most of the night until the dancing began!

And this morning I went to church with my one of my fav biblestudy girls, CC, and we got to catch up a bit. I just heart her. I then met the T's out for lunch, which was really my second breakfast of the day -- which since that is my favorite meal of the day I was totally stoked!) and we went shopping. I was so very glad to go to the new academy -- I was on the hunt for new shoes and just wandered through the clothes section and I was ASTONISHED to find they actually carried women's sizes (aka bigger than an XL) in workout clothes. You have to understand -- they literally don't make them bigger than an XL. You would think that they would -- I mean, fat people need to be able to work out too. And they literally just don't. So I was SO EXCITED to find some that looked good, and fit. Especially since the ones I have been wearing (what, for the last 3 years) are starting to be a little big. (WOO-HOO....but also very annoying...especially since I have had them forever and can't find others any that fit!) So I spent a small fortune in more workout clothes, but hopefully these will fit for a good while.

Then I ran over to Fleet Feet -- which is a great little running store - to get some new shoes. (and I went there after a talk with the T's and a conversation they had with a salesperson at Luke's locker about shoes -- and how it is better to pay more money for them - especially if you put them through a good workout....which I do!). I had priced out the ones I wanted at Academy - and ironically the ones I got from there at full price were less! AWESOME. So now I am set for a while and I am so very excited. Especially since I really didn't have enough clothes to work out for 5 full days without washing and now we are good to go (which is even better when we are busy at work!)

Even better when I was there, the sales guy saw my aggie ring and asked when I graduated, etc, and it turns out he is an accounting major at A&M in the PPA program. I spent a good 30 minutes talking to him and talking about recruiting, public accounting and audit vs tax. It was so much fun and he was so excited and seemed to really like to talk to someone "impartial" about it and just to have someone who has done it to really talk to without promoting one firm or another (although, I did put in a very good word for KPMG). I really miss that part of my old job...I mean we do recruit at my new Company, but it isn't the same as public accounting recruiting (which I can admit is pretty ridiculous).

And then I spent the rest of the afternoon and evening getting ready for the week -- which is going to be really busy. I did all my laundry and got some stuff organized...and now I am ready. Although, I did climb in bed "for an hour" while my clothes were drying and it turned into a two hour nap. Which was TOTALLY  AMAZING, except now it is 10:00 PM, about 1 hour past my bedtime and I am no where near tired. Yes, I will pay for it tomorrow. But it was totally worth it!! I guess I need to go make my bed with my sheets straight out of the dryer....which is going to be A-W-E-S-O-M-E!!!! Night my friends...heres to hoping you have a great week!
