"oh, oh we're half way there...oh, oh, livin on a prayer"
yes, that is right. Bon Jovi. As one of my favorite old staff said to us "1985 called and wanted it's concert back." Awesome. and that it was.
This group of us have been "concert crazy" for a while...there have just been so many concerts that have come up lately that we just had to go to. And Bon Jovi was one of them. LW found out he was coming to Texas, and we bought tickets and decided to take a road trip. We packed up on Friday and headed to L's aunt and uncles lake house that was almost to Dallas. It was a great trip up - getting to hang out with the girls and catch up and then we got to the lake. We cooked dinner, laughed and talked some more, and I totally wussed out early and went to bed....at midnight! We woke up the next morning and I was SO sore from working out with my trainer and decided the best way to spend the morning was watching the sunrise, while drinking coffee....in the hot tub. I just don't think it could have been any better!
We spent the afternoon at the lake, laying out and catching up and being silly. It was so much fun. Finally we headed off to Dallas and took a nap to get ready for Bon Jovi. We got ready and headed out to Mia's for dinner....LOVE me some brisket tacos!
Here is me, JK and LM outside the restaurant. All smiles - the beer was cold and the margaritas were fabulous!
Here is A with LW and A -- the left A was friends with LW in college and the right A has been friends with LW since childhood. We have had so much fun with these girls through LW's bachelorette party, the wedding, birthdays, and concerts. SO MUCH FUN.
Here is L, LC and I. The funny thing is while we were at the lake, I was in my swimsuit sunning....and I look like I got no sun. And A and LW got sunburned. Go figure - the whitest girl didn't get sunburned!
And here is me and JK - I just heart her. I love how easy going she is and blunt...she is just so real and it is so fun to get to know her so much better. And the best thing about her -- she has some great friends....that we got to meet on the way home to do this....
What is that, you say? Those are the largest and best strawberries EVER. JK has a friend from where she grew up (see below) that moved to a small town her hubby grew up in and they started an "after 5 job" as they call it - and they plant strawberries and you can go and pick them. It was SO much fun. We bought WAY too many strawberries and they are so fabulous. I'm pretty sure I had almost 4 lbs of strawberries...and I'm pretty sure I ate one lb of them today! If you are ever driving up 45 near Fairfield around this time of year - check them out....Chavers Farm - it is definitely a fun little trip searching for the perfect strawberry!
All in all, it was just what I needed....time away with the girls, laughing, singing, dancing, and just being plain silly. And did I mention eating lots of strawberries?!?!?
